Wow! What a terrific family getaway! Dan and Carolyn Indianapolis Review Submitted: June 8, 2010 Date of Stay: May 2010 Our family was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Gore Getaway. We all felt like we were on an adventure as we ventured over the narrow bridge and through the gate and up the winding quarter mile driveway to our vacation home. It was very comfortable for our family of six; 2 adults, 4 children ranging in ages from 8-13yrs. There were plenty of towels, pillows, and sheets if you need them. Thank you for having the extras that most places don't provide like: saran wrap, dishwashing soap, spices. Thank you for the last minute accommodation for the wireless internet connection--we needed to stay connected with the home business, keep up on emails, and investigated our destinations through the web. Be careful walking up and down the hardwood stairs, DON'T WEAR SOCKS. We loved the front and back porches and the vast yard for the kids to run around in. The hammock was a fun plus. We hiked the trails on the grounds, played in the stream at the bottom of the hill, told ghost stories and had smores around the campfire. We explored Winchester, Washington DC, Shenandoah Caverns, American Celebrations, Route 11 Potato Chip Factory, Shenandoah National Park, Monticello while visiting the area. P.S. The well water is not that bad at all....that is our opinion, since we have had much worse in Northern and Southeastern Indiana. We all absolutely loved spending time at the Gore Getaway! I didn't want to go home! Thank you Gore Getaway we will visit again in a few years!

We had a wonderful week at the Gore Getaway. The house was clean and very cozy. The fenced in yard was perfect for our dog. We'd love to return for another relaxing vacation! Thank you!

Our Cornerstone Church mother/daughter group rented the Gore Get-Away for our annual retreat. We enjoyed the serene setting as well as the convenience of shopping in Old Town Winchester and the Leesburg Outlets. The house is very nice. And we also enjoyed the beautiful, private fenced back yard with the fire pit where we enjoyed a warm fire. It was the perfect setting for our annual retreat and we hope to return. Thanks for allowing us to use your home. Sandy DuBois

We had a thoroughly enjoyable three weeks at your"cottage in the woods". Everyone that we have talked to has been most helpful and a joy to talk to. We have been met with nothing but kindness. We shall take away lots of happy memories. The only thing that has exercised our minds -in- how can you bear not to live at Gore permanently.

We enjoyed our stay once again at the Gore Getaway August 29 thru September 1. We toured the Bell Grove mansion as well as the Long Branch mansion. Very beautiful and breath taking and a "must see". We also went through the grain mill in Millwood. That was very interesting. We are taking our little guy back one Saturday as he can help grind the grains and bag them! What a learning experience! The weather was beautiful! Thanks for letting share your home once again!
