We enjoyed our stay once again at the Gore Getaway August 29 thru September 1. We toured the Bell Grove mansion as well as the Long Branch mansion. Very beautiful and breath taking and a "must see". We also went through the grain mill in Millwood. That was very interesting. We are taking our little guy back one Saturday as he can help grind the grains and bag them! What a learning experience! The weather was beautiful! Thanks for letting share your home once again!

The Gore Get-away is perfect for a Family Get Away The photos do not do the home justice. It is very well maintained. The location is perfect for that 'away from it all' feeling yet is conveniently located within minutes of the main road and approx. 20 minutes from the nearest WalMart. Our five children enjoyed the backyard immensely as well as walking the trails on the property.

Good Morning! I just wanted to let you know that we made it home safe and sound. Got in about 7:00 Sunday evening. We kept the vacation going by taking scenic roads home as much as we could. It was beautiful in Virginia and your house is in a great location to hit all we wanted to see. And I even got to see 2 bears the day we rode the Forest . I was thrilled!!! It was hard coming back to the real world after vacation. While at the Gore Get-away we ate breakfast at Jack's a couple of times. Fun place! We also had dinner once and breakfast at Hayfield. But your suggestion of Cork Street Tavern was one of our favorites. I had found that online as well and we would highly recommend it too! We had great food on this trip and would suggest Backseat Bar and Grill, Piccadillyâ??s and Brewbakerâ??s as well. Thanks again for sharing your home with us. We enjoyed it very much. It has been a pleasure working with you over these past few months. If we ever decide to visit that area again we will give you a call. Thanks for everything! Tammie

Hi, I'm Rebecca Kline from Onekama,Mich- igan. We rented your house from 3/29-4/5. It made our vacation a wonderful experience. We had rented like that in Mt. Jackson 4 years ago and enjoyed it too. You have a beautiful home and land. All 7 of us had a bedroom and managed the bathroom time very well!!!!! It saved money to be able to eat most of our meals at the house. My aunt s and uncles are in Winchester and Edinburg. Visited the Shenandoah Caverns, Dinasaurland, Shen. Valley Museum and Discovery Museum (2 and 4 year olds loved it and the rest of us found something to do too.) My son, daughter, and other sons 2 daughters (10 and 12) went to Washington D.C. for one day. They took the trolley ride and made 17 stops. Cherry blossoms were in full bloom. I kept the two little ones at the house as I grew up in New Market and had seen all of that many times. I just wanted to Thank you for sharing your home with us. We did leave the pile of sheets as we left at 6 A.M. for home. Came back to snow and still having flurries today!!! Oh Well! We will keep you in mind for next time. Becky Kline

I have visited the Gore Get-Away several times, once for a wedding. After the wedding, I asked a girl to accompany me down to the "kissin' bridge", after a copious amount of champagne and beer. Its just a great location, perfectly situated. It is accessible to Washington, yet completely tranquil and relaxing, like in the days of yore. Thanks Gore Get-Away!
